Electronics Production Technician/Production Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Electronics Production Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble, test, calibrate, inspect, and package electronic products while ensuring strict adherence to production standards, safety protocols, and timelines. This position is integral to delivering high-quality detectors and gas safety components to our customers, working within a dynamic and fast-paced ISO 9001-certified environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly operations, including housing, connection box, and rear assembly.
  • Program and calibrate electronic detectors by performing firmware flashing, lab testing, and evaluations in a thermal chamber.
  • Execute testing procedures-both basic and advanced-such as HIPOT testing and quality inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with established safety and operational protocols.
  • Follow and interpret work orders, batch instructions, and detailed assembly drawings.
  • Verify and document the integrity of all materials, components, and parts before and after assembly.
  • Package completed electronic products for delivery or further processing.
  • Input and maintain documentation in production databases or on work orders with a high level of accuracy.
  • Identify and flag defective products using proper red-tag procedures and escalate issues as needed to supervisors.
  • Inspect and monitor tools, equipment, and workstations to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Transfer completed product assemblies to the Quality Assurance (QA) team for final review.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly roles preferred.
  • Prior experience in electronics production, especially in an ISO 9001-certified environment, is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, work instructions, and batch records.
  • Working proficiency in basic computer applications, including data entry and retrieval.
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and proper handling of sensitive electronic components.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and high accuracy in repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify production deviations and escalate appropriately.
  • Effective communication skills for updates, reporting, and collaborating with the team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive use of hands and fingers to handle components and operate tools or computers.
  • Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods while maintaining accuracy.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a temperature-controlled warehouse or production environment, involving exposure to machinery, tools, and delicate electronic components. Additional time may be spent at desk stations performing data entry or documentation. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including smocks, safety glasses, and ESD protection, must be worn consistently.

Additional Working Conditions Include:

  • Standing for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and handling of parts and assembly components.
  • Concentration on repetitive tasks under production timelines.
  • Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional opportunities for overtime based on production demand.
